Inside: An Intimate Chelsea Wedding

Our Story

We met 10 years ago in Putney and exactly a decade later, we got married, in Putney.

Our Chelsea wedding began when we got engaged back in 2018 in Positano, Italy after a beautiful four night summer stay. My ring was a beautiful halo ring with a cushion diamond in white gold with round diamonds.

Venue

We live in South-West London, so an intimate ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall, Brydon Room was the perfect choice for us. This was followed by a lovely afternoon tea at Beaufort House, Kings Road. The following day, we had a celebration for over 100 people at Thames Rowing Club, Putney – on the river where we met.

Fashion

For our Chelsea wedding, I wore a beautiful white suit which I already owned by Because Of Alice with a gold cami vest by Reiss and new season Prada shoes. My something blue was a beautiful, embroidered handkerchief. Our dogs were at the wedding too and both wore bridesmaid dresses and twill bows by Coast.

When it came to accessorising, for jewellery I wore a Van Cleef necklace and bracelet and a pair of chunky pearl hoop from Oliver Bonas. I also opted for a beautiful hair bow by Gigi and Olive.

The following day I wore a lovely Rixo dress, Prada Shoes and a Prada hairclip – Prada is my favourite designer! I also found a bespoke leather jacket designer who designed me a personalised ‘We Came Here For Love’ jacket which I loved.

Bridal Party

All of my bridesmaids wore Six Stories.

Tablescape

I couldn’t recommend my wedding planner, Claire any more, she helped to bring my tablecape vision to life. We used Boomting Bunting to dress the room and ceilings with beautiful white drapes. For the tablewear, I collected many individual items over months – from candles to napkin rings, to linen. I wanted the tables to feel very ‘simplistic chic’ and I am thrilled with how it turned out. The fresh flowers in mini-jars were the final added touch of beauty.

Instead of favours we had a live illustrator called ‘Sketched by Siena’ who live sketched our guests with water-colour – this was such a lovely touch.

We then used the brilliant Kay for all our name-cards. and used Jen for all things stationary, including invites, readings and menus.

Food & Drink

We had our dream menu which was an extravagant BBQ with steaks, lobster macaroni cheese, beautiful salads, cheeses and an Eton Mess for dessert! Our cake was a retro 80’s heart-shaped Victoria sponge delight by London based Etoile Bakery.

We had Laurent Perrier champagne and Pimms for the drink’s reception and hired the brilliant Coxtails and their mixologists who made our six favourite cocktails for guests all evening!

Entertainment

We had Apollo Soul who were just brilliant. We used their saxophonist from the drink’s reception onwards, then full band from 8pm. I would highly recommend. We didn’t have a first dance but did ask the band to play ‘”Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” by The Police, which got everyone up and dancing.

Honeymoon Plans

We just arrived back from our mini moon to Majorca. We spent a wonderful few day on a yacht and at a stunning farmhouse in the country – a very different setting from our Chelsea wedding in London.
