Selecting a wedding photographer to capture your big day is no easy feat. Do you want traditionally posed pictures, or more of a curated, magazine-spread type feel? Do you prefer soft, naturally-lit images, or darker, moodier ones with higher contrast? Whatever style you’re after – from candid reportage to the polished, magazine-spread feel of the best editorial wedding photographers – there are hundreds of talented names ready to document your special day.
From heartwarming speeches to embarrassing dance numbers, exchanging those all-important vows to kissing under a tunnel of confetti, these are the moments you’ll look back on, reminisce about and want to relive for years to come. So you want a wedding photographer who can seamlessly become a part of your wedding and capture all those tiny details for you to remember forever – even if you’re camera shy.
As Henri Cartier-Bresson once said, ‘Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again’.
Whether you’re tying the knot at a country wedding in the South of France or a formal city wedding in London, you might want candid, documentary-style pictures that capture the moment as it unfolds, or formal, staged portraits – and the editorial wedding photographers in our 2026 edit tend to move easily between the two.
Here, then, are our favourite editorial wedding photographers to book for your big day…
Chrissy Canitano
Romantic, Documentary, Timeless

Based in New York, Chrissy Canitano is an editorial wedding photographer that can’t be shoe-horned into one category. They are at the same time, cinematic and fly-on-the-wall documentarian – a visual range has earned her pages in British Vogue, Tatler, Vanity Fair and Glamour.
Ask her couples and the same words recur: warm, attentive, calm to have around. What she’s after, above all, is romance and genuine feeling, and she has a particular command of light across both film and digital – the glow of a candle-lit dinner, a sun-dappled veil – giving her pictures an Old Hollywood quality. Thirty-five-odd weddings attended as a guest have taught her to catch the off-the-cuff moments, making her galleries that result less a document of the day than an ode to it. She works worldwide, and a destination celebration in Italy gets the same care as a ceremony in New York City.

Andrew Leo
Fun, Genuine, Striking

After a brief stint in investment banking Andrew Leo picked up a camera and hasn’t looked back since. He learnt photography shooting friends’ bands and assisting in the fashion world. ‘I loved the blend of the two disciplines – the joy and energy of live music performances, and in fashion the style and drama of great outfits and interesting characters,’ he says.
When Andrew started to shoot weddings, it was mostly as a favour for friends – since he was technically still a guest, he acted like one and stayed at the party until the later hours. The result? Candid, natural, emotional, funny, and at times chaotic, photos. ‘I felt like I had a knack for capturing genuine emotions, this allowed people to be themselves,’ he adds.
Word spread and wedding photography stopped being just a hobby and started giving Andrew an income. So despite his growing success in the fashion world – his pictures were on billboards for Austin Reed and Miss Selfridge and in editorials for The Independent – it was weddings, and the people at them, that he really enjoyed capturing.
Since then, he’s shot weddings in beautiful destinations across Africa, the US, Europe, and the UK. From traditional Indian ceremonies to same-sex unions, intimate venues and seaside resorts to country mansions. Known as an editorial wedding photographer, his work has been featured in publications like Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Brides, Rock n Roll Bride and, of course, The Wedding Edition.
His aim? ‘When you look back at my photos, they will remind you of how it felt to be there’.

Louise Adby
Elegant, Natural, Heartfelt

Louise Adby studied graphic design and photography at university, and it was two friends who, despite having only seen her university work, first trusted Louise to capture their special day over 15 years ago. ‘I accepted the challenge, armed with just one camera, one lens, and an on-camera flash,’ she remembers.
After university, Louise initially delved into the world of video editing and production. But her heart remained in photography. ‘While working on. various sets, I found myself capturing behind-the-scenes moments,’ she says. She eventually transitioned into full-time photography after spending four years in the commercial world, where she was lucky enough to work on some amazing commissions, including assignments in the Caribbean and the US.
Recently relocating from Surrey to Wiltshire, Louise tends to cover weddings across Surrey, London, Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, and the Cotswolds. She also photographs a select number of international weddings each year.
Her style? Clean, fresh and classic. ‘My primary goal is to capture authentic emotion and connection, seamlessly weaving in elements of elegance and romance,’ she says. ‘I approach each shot with thoughtful consideration of composition, always on the lookout for captivating light and backdrops. In my editing process, I strive for a bright and fresh style, ensuring that colours remain true to the day, creating timeless images.’
Louise understands just how important it is for couples to feel comfortable and natural, and aims to make her couples feel at ease, rather than on a photoshoot. While she provides gentle direction during portraits, she’s all about capturing genuine moments between the couple. And all her collections include something tangible, as Louise believes the way you view your images is just as important as how they were captured.

Midnight Sol
Candid, Destination, Organic

Run by husband and wife duo, Aaron and Samantha Salinas, Midnight Sol Photography started as an idea of telling common love stories while travelling all around the world.
Inspired by their own wedding – which symbolised a new beginning after nurturing a long-distance relationship – Aaron and Samantha took a risk on the dream of becoming destination photographers, fueled by their love and a desire to share this feeling with others.
They decided upon the name ‘Midnight Sol’ – which is a play on ‘Midnight Sun’, another name for a solar eclipse, or the union of the sun and moon. This symbolises a man and a woman being separated by time and space, and eventually coming together in marriage. This soulful image, alongside the message of 1 Corinthians 16:14 laid the blueprint for their company’s ethos, which is at the centre of all their creative decisions.
Aaron and Samantha understand that the secret to incredible photography is genuine authenticity. This is why they take time to create a relationship with the couples they shoot and establish a comfortable atmosphere to create art. None of the couples they’ve shot are models and often express an understandable nervousness around the camera. This is what makes their style so special, since Aaron and Samantha understand how to prompt and guide organic interaction, resulting in documentary photographs full of a lifetime of memory.
Midnight Sol is proud to have put the love stories of couples in multiple publications including Vogue, Vanity Fair, Tatler and Glamour. Their goal is to continue to grow in their craft and spread the message of love to all the world.

Lucy Davenport
Elegant, Romantic, Authentic

For wedding photographer Lucy Davenport, photography was always her chosen career path and studied for a degree in Advertising and Editorial photography. Like so many other photographers, she was interested in the fashion world and during her second year, worked for Mario Testino. ‘I continued to study alongside working for him throughout my third year, and once I graduated too,’ she says.
The skills she learned and the insight she gained into the world of photography, publications, exhibitions and storytelling is something that’s stayed with her for the rest of her career. But it wasn’t until she was asked by chance to photograph a wedding in 2010 that she fell into the wedding world. ‘I quickly realised when photographing my first season that my editorial and fashion background stood me apart,’ she says.
Based in Oxfordshire, she covers a lot of gorgeous venues locally in the Cotswolds but travels the length of the UK and abroad as well. The majority of her clients tend to live in London and host their marquee wedding either at their family home or a venue that offers weekend stays, so the celebrations can span over several days.
Lucy’s approach to wedding photography is to blend in as a guest, capturing the story, emotion and beauty unfolding. ‘I want to create lasting memories of authentic moments and beautiful portraiture for you to treasure,’ she says. She is first and foremost an editorial wedding photographer, and her love of candid moments really helps to capture the essence of guests and the atmosphere of your wedding day.
