Designer Caitlyn Warakomski shares the trends shaping 2026 weddings – from the value of authenticity and guest experience, to candid photography and the rise in more unexpected, environment-led bridal looks.
Here, we talk to Caitlyn Warakomski about the trends she’s loving.
To start, what wedding trends are you personally loving right now, and why do you think they’re resonating with brides in 2026?
I’m loving weddings that feel deeply personal to the couple instead of overly trend-driven. I think brides in 2026 are really focused on creating a full atmosphere and experience that reflects who they are…through colour, texture, music, fashion, food, and even scent. It’s less about following a formula and more about curating a vibe that feels intentional and emotionally connected to the couple.
When it comes to the overall look and feel of weddings today, what are the trends dominating this spring/summer season?
This season feels very immersive and elevated. I’m seeing a lot of layered textures, soft but rich colour palettes, statement lighting, custom details, and design that feels collected rather than overly polished. I think there is also a huge focus on destination-inspired aesthetics, really leaning into the setting instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all wedding style.

Let’s talk fashion. What styles, silhouettes, or designers are standing out to you right now across the bridal space?
I think more unexpected bridal looks are really standing out right now! Brides are leaning into fashion that reflects the environment and energy of their wedding whether that’s western-inspired, tropical destination, European coastal, or classic New York. I’m also seeing more unique silhouettes, draping, scarves, capes, texture, and versatile pieces that feel editorial but still timeless. I am loving it!

Tablescaping has become such a moment in itself. What details do you think make a wedding table feel chic, personal, and memorable?
For me, it always starts with beautiful linens or a chair upgrade. I think they completely set the tone. Then layering in thoughtful details like personal place cards, textured glassware, candlelight, and a chic menu design makes everything feel elevated. The best tables feel effortless but still intentional, where every detail contributes to the overall atmosphere!

What wellness rituals or self-care moments would you suggest brides must try?
Honestly… lots of water and sleep! I think brides can get so overwhelmed trying every wellness trend before their wedding, but feeling rested and hydrated is the key. Beyond that, anything that genuinely helps you slow down and enjoy the process like a long walk, a light work out, a massage, or simply unplugging for a night is the way to go!
What colour trends are you loving for weddings this year?
I have always loved earthy, sun-faded tones mixed with soft neutrals. They feel elevated, timeless, and photograph beautifully, especially in natural light!

Any expert insights on creative documenting of weddings today, whether through social media, content creators, film photography, or more unplugged experiences?
I love the mix of highly curated imagery with more candid, in-the-moment documentation. Wedding content creators have changed the game because couples can relive the energy almost instantly. I also think couples are becoming more intentional about balancing documentation with presence, by capturing everything without feeling like the wedding is a production set .
Guest experience has become such a key part of modern weddings. What trends are you seeing when it comes to making celebrations feel more immersive and memorable for guests?
Guests will really remember how a wedding felt or how you made them feel while they were there . I think focusing on creating experiences rather than just an event. Maybe it is a late night surprise, an unexpected entertainment, lounge spaces, a boat day, welcome parties vs official rehearsal dinner, and design details that make guests feel transported into the couple’s world for the weekend.

Are there any wedding traditions or trends you feel brides are moving away from right now?
I think couples are moving away from doing things just because they’re expected to and I love it. There’s less pressure to follow every traditional wedding rule or timeline and more freedom to make the celebration feel authentic to them. Whether that’s skipping certain formalities, doing nontraditional fashion, or creating a more relaxed flow to the weekend, weddings feel much more personal now.
Finally, what do you think defines the modern 2026 bride?
The modern 2026 bride is intentional. I think she cares about aesthetics and fashion, but more importantly, she also wants meaning, experience, and authenticity. She values guest experience, and wants the celebration to feel like an extension of her real life and personal style rather than a performance.
