Trends I’m Loving Right Now With Jordan Rose
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

To start, what wedding trends are you personally loving right now, and why are they resonating with you?

I really love that people are leaning towards more eco-conscious choices with weddings at the moment. This was something that was really important to myself and my family, ensuring we have no single-use plastic or unnecessary waste, as well as booking a majority of local suppliers.

I’m a big fan of a retro wedding cake with lots of piping and ruffles – we will definitely be having something similar, along with some vintage cake toppers.

I also love the Bridgerton style weddings that are trending at the moment. I feel like this would have been my second choice for an aesthetic!

When it comes to the overall look and feel of the day, how are you approaching your aesthetic or styling choices?

Our wedding has the theme of ‘Old Hollywood Garden Party’. With this in mind, we’re going for a lot of dreamy pastels, cottage garden style blooms, and classic furnishings, all with a vintage twist.

Let’s talk fashion – what styles, silhouettes or designers are you gravitating towards for your wedding wardrobe?

I’m very excited to have all of my dresses sorted now! While all of them are very different, I feel like they all very much lean into classic silhouettes – think Old Hollywood, Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. It was more difficult than I expected to find exactly what I wanted, especially for my main ceremony dress, but once I tried it on at The Wedding Club, I knew it was perfect.

Tablescaping has become such a moment in itself. What details are you focusing on to make your tables feel considered and special?

So we’re going a little bit out of the box with this in that we’re not actually having a sit-down dinner – just food being brought out throughout the day. However, we are having a variety of tables and styled areas dotted around the garden which will have some simple styling.

What wellness rituals are you incorporating in the lead-up to or on the wedding day (e.g. sound baths, yoga, tarot, IV drips)?

I feel like I’m the kind of girl who is all about self-care, wedding or no wedding! So I’ll be continuing my regular wellness rituals of yoga, sound baths and a very thorough skincare routine.

What colour trends are you loving for weddings this year?

I am a big lover of pastels, and they will be making an appearance in our wedding in a big way. Not only will they be incorporated into all of the décor and florals, but we’ve also given a suggested colour palette to our guests to dress in pastels.

In terms of trends that I’m not personally going for but love, I am obsessed with the butter yellow trend! I may have to try to figure out a way to sneak a little bit of it into our pastels.

How are you thinking about documenting your day – whether through social media, content creators, or a more unplugged/phone’s confiscated approach?

We’ve hired an amazing photographer and videographer to capture the day and are still on the fence about whether to have a content creator too. I’ve already been sharing lots about my planning journey on social media, so I will absolutely be sharing all the beautiful content from the day too.

We are having an unplugged ceremony though, as we’d much prefer our guests to be in the moment and I’ve never liked the idea of people holding up phones in all the professional photos and video as I walk down the aisle.

Guest experience is such a key part of a modern wedding – what are you doing to make the day memorable for everyone attending (e.g. immersive entertainment, interactive food moments, photo booths)?

Food is a huge part of both mine and my fiancé’s lives which is why we wanted some of the best local food to be brought out throughout the day. We’re also having the Oyster Meister who will be shucking fresh oysters for all our guests during cocktail hour.

We will be having croquet set up on the lawn which I feel is going to make for a very fun game on the day. And yes, I will be taking part in my wedding dress.

We would also absolutely love to have a live illustrator/poet, but this is budget depending!

Are there any traditions or trends you’re consciously rejecting?

We won’t be doing wedding favours, as every wedding I’ve been to where there has been them, they end up being left behind or under-appreciated. And as mentioned before we’re not doing the traditional sit-down wedding breakfast. I always find this bit to be the slowest section of a wedding, and we really want it to feel like one big party all day.

Finally, what does being a 2027 bride mean to you?

To me, it’s about consciously ensuring that I truly enjoy being a bride, simply through mindset. I too often hear from brides that it was very stressful for them on both the lead up and on the day, but I honestly have really enjoyed the whole process so far. And on the day, if something goes wrong, it won’t matter. I’m marrying the love of my life and I want to focus on that, as well as being in one place with all the people we love most, with some amazing food and entertainment.

I’ve been keeping the mentality that the day is simply a garden party with added elements, and this has really reduced the pressure for me. I can’t wait!
