Since graduating from Cordwainers, British shoe designer Camilla Elphick has established a reputation for her iconic, feminine styles that have become firm favourites with royalty, fashion editors, celebrities and brand ambassadors.
I love working in the fashion industry because….
I can create a product that brings people real joy, to wear at meaningful moments in their life, like their wedding — and it’s so much fun and I hope that resonates with the brand. It’s a very creative and exciting industry and I have met such talented and inspiring people along the way.
Camilla Elphick is best known for…
Feminine footwear with a twist. At the moment I think we are best known for our ALICIA flats — if you haven’t got a pair yet, let me tell you a little more about them… ALICIA is a pointed-toe slingback pump that comes in an array of colours with a playful two-tone toe cap with a v-shaped detail and finished with a cross-cross stitch. They feature oversized pearl buckles, plus a crystal buckle on our new bridal all-white pair launching soon! Although considered flat shoes, they have a bit of a heel for a very flattering feel that elongates the leg and just makes you feel fabulous!
My biggest achievement to date is…
Building a brand. It’s been quite a journey over the years and, it’s only just the beginning.
The current shoe trends I’m loving are…
Platforms! I’m 5’4 and I just love a bit of height at events, weddings and parties. We are launching a new platform, JASMINE, this summer — they are so comfy and I just know I will wear them with everything! The gold glitter shimmers at night.
When it comes to weddings, the looks I love are…
For shoes for the bride — it’s so personal and it depends on the location, but I love something very elegant. To my mind, you want to glide down the aisle. I would recommend our LUCIA in silver and gold.
My favourite place in the world to skip the crowds is…
I’m a city girl at heart so I don’t mind the crowds!
The best person to follow on Instagram for big-day inspo is…
The Wedding Edition, of course! But in terms of people here are a few accounts I followed for my big day: @bettinalooney @marianame @pernilleteisback.
And finally, what’s next for Camilla Elphick
I am so excited to launch our children’s Mini Me collection.
