The importance of sustainability is reflected in the recycled paper ranges Hatty offers her clients to print on, for example a paper made entirely from paper coffee cups. Here’s Hatty’s Hottest Stationery Trends for 2022…
1. The Botanical Look
As always, my stationery collections are highly personalised and used to reflect the vision of the bride and groom. For this detailed stationery set, I used the couple’s wedding location, Kew Gardens, as my main source for inspiration. The vibrant colour palette, architectural features, golden pheasants and exquisite flowers are details that are weaved throughout the overall aesthetic of the stationary. Visual motifs, such as palm leaves, are seen on the invite, the location map and the name places to create a sense of synergy that runs throughout the set.
2. The Contemporary Look
The refinement of this stationery set was inspired by the understated elegance of the couple’s wedding venue, Bvlgari Hotel London. The expressive outline of Bvlgari’s entrance is seen on the Save the Date invite, ornated with loose ink spots and allusions to the hotel’s 6-point star. Next to the entrance is a charming and playful depiction of the couple as they arrive. Other features of the hotel, such as the venue’s ballroom chandeliers, act as exquisite centrepieces throughout the set.
3. The Whimsical Look
This black ink wedding set was created for my daughter and her fiancé, making it an exceptionally personal collection for me and my family. My daughter has a love of surreal imagery and fantastical worlds, which influenced the whimsical theme of this set. The embellished line work pays tribute to Baroque art, as does the use of symbolism peppered throughout. Several of the flowers and animals presented are steeped in family meaning. For example, as my daughter’s name is Poppy, poppy flowers are prevalent throughout all the illustrations.
4. The Couture Look
Bold, unique, and with a touch of elevated punk; this couture stationery set perfectly captured the bride and groom’s desire for something sophisticated but different. To create this stationery set, the design was first embossed onto the invite before being hand-sprayed with bright fuchsia accents. This touch meant that every invitation was completely unique.
5. Live Wedding Sketches
My reportage sketches capture organic moments throughout the wedding day. From the bride’s dressing ritual in the morning to post-ceremony celebrations, my sketches use glamour and wit to distil the energy and vibrancy of any wedding occasion. After the wedding, these sketches can be laid out in a beautiful book or hung up in your home.
6. Live Wedding Paintings
My live wedding paintings can act as a unique interactive attraction for wedding guests, with the final painting becoming more and more alive throughout the day. My observational eye revels in quirky details and special moments, which help breathe life into the final piece. Utilising my fashion background, I enjoy replicating the attires of the bride, the groom and guests. After the wedding, couples are given a personalised mixed-media painting that they can keep as a reminder of their special day.
