Finding the perfect wedding dress is a huge part of planning for the big day. Emily Daisy Coleridge shares their journey to finding ‘The One’.
For Emily Daisy Coleridge, 30th May 2025 was more than a wedding date – it was the day she married the man of her dreams, Nicholas James Coleridge, surrounded by olive groves under the Ibizan sun. Set within the effortlessly romantic grounds of Atzaró Agroturismo, the celebration called for a look that felt equally free-spirited, elevated and utterly her. A lifelong fashion lover with a strong sense of personal style, Emily was never going to settle for the traditional bridal mould. Instead, she set out to create something entirely unique — a custom look that embodied her vision of the modern boho bride. Here, she shares the story behind the dress, the details that made it unforgettable, and the joy of stepping into something that truly felt like ‘The One.’
The Journey
I might be one of the few brides who didn’t feel the urge to wander around London trying on endless dresses I already knew weren’t right for me. I’ve always had a strong sense of personal style, and when it came to my wedding look, I had a very clear vision. We were getting married in Ibiza, so I knew I could be a little more playful and bold with my outfit. I wanted to feel like a cool, boho bride. Hopefully, I pulled it off!
The Vision
I always had a clear picture of how I wanted to look on my wedding day. I think most girls do, in some way. As a child, I loved flipping through fashion magazines and sketching out my own dress designs. So when the time finally came to find the dress, I knew I needed to have a strong say in the process. One morning, I woke up to see that Annie’s Ibiza had launched a bridal edit. In that moment, I just knew that was where I would have my dress made.
The Decision
Once I had found the right place, the real fun began. There was this incredible beaded sheer maxi dress with feather detailing at the hem. I was convinced it was the one. But when I tried it on, it just didn’t work. It completely overwhelmed me, which was such a disappointment, because it really is the most stunning dress.
One of the girls at Annie’s came over with a new idea. At first, I was hesitant, but she worked her magic and everything started to come together. We created a sort of bespoke look using a mini skirt from the new collection. We customised it in a beautiful satin white, then added a detachable train that buttoned at the waist and flowed into a soft V shape with a lace trim. We also embroidered my wedding date into the hem, which made it feel incredibly personal.
That detail meant so much to me. I’m planning to cut that section of the train and have it framed.
Style Support
Of course, I asked for my mum and sisters’ opinions, but even if they hadn’t loved it, I think I still would have gone with my own vision. Fashion has always been a way for me to express myself.
My friends had no idea what the dress would look like, but I think everyone had a sense of what the vibe might be. And let’s be honest, I love having my legs out. Everyone knows that about me.
The Evening Look
The transition into the evening was seamless. All I had to do was remove the train, and suddenly it felt like I had a second dress. It was the best of both worlds. I also changed into a pair of silver cowboy boots from Free People. It wouldn’t be an Ibiza wedding if the bride didn’t pull on her cowboy boots.
Accessories
Accessories are such an important part of any outfit, and I’ve always been a jewellery girl. In my eyes, the more the better. My something borrowed was a beautiful pearl and diamond necklace that belonged to my granny. It meant so much to wear something of hers on the day. I chose not to wear a veil, as it felt too traditional for the look I was going for. Instead, I wore a gorgeous beaded headband from Annie’s Ibiza, which I will absolutely wear again.
Most of the jewellery I wore across the wedding weekend was handmade by my mum’s best friend, Nathalie Walker. I call her my Ibiza mummy. Her brand is @BalarDesign and she created these amazing silver bracelets with little hanging pendants. They felt very boho, very cool and very me.
My shoes were actually one of my favourite details. They were five-inch diamanté platforms from Paris Texas and the colour matched my husband’s lilac suit perfectly. They were also incredibly comfortable and I can’t wait to wear them again. And of course, sunglasses were essential. I wore my 70s-style Chloés. I wouldn’t be without them.
The Second Day Outfit
The outfit for day two was a crystal-draped silver mini dress by Giuseppe Di Morabito. It felt fun, glamorous and perfect for the Ibiza setting. I wore it with platform Birkenstocks and, naturally, more of my BalarDesign jewellery.
Advice For Brides
It’s the one day you get to dress like the Princess you always dreamed of, so wear what you want and not what you think other people want you to wear. The day is about you!
Favourite Photo Of The Dress
My favourite photo of the dress was taken by our friend and photographer, Jimi Herrtage. It was just before the ceremony, before any guests had arrived. I’m standing in the doorway, and there’s something so natural and effortless about the shot. It captures exactly how I felt in that moment – I’ll definitely be framing it.
