From blow dries in London to late-night jazz in the Marais, Lucy’s Parisian celebration redefined the modern bride’s getaway.
Why Paris?
I’ve always been drawn to Paris. It’s effortless style, timeless romance and synonymous sophistication perfectly captured the vision I had for my hen. One of my father’s favourite sayings is, “Always leave the party wanting more,” and that became the inspiration behind Une Nuit à Paris – 36 unforgettable hours celebrating love, friendship and the next chapter of my life in the most magical city in the world. Not a day has passed by since the trip, where I haven’t found myself reliving a moment with a smile on my face. It was pure joy and I will cherish these memories always.

Where we stayed
We stayed in a beautifully curated Airbnb that felt straight out of a design magazine every detail elegant and perfectly matched with our burgundy colour scheme. Once the atelier of Oscar-winning Italian costume designer Franca Squarciapino, the apartment carried an air of creative history and quiet luxury. Each morning, I opened the shutters to a picturesque Parisian courtyard, sunlight spilling in as I had my very own Emily in Paris moment.
Set in the heart of Haut-Marais, one of the world’s coolest neighbourhoods, we were surrounded by everything that defines modern Parisian allure: chic restaurants, vintage boutiques and contemporary galleries.

What we did
Our pre hen celebrations began in London with a Glow Up at Duck & Dry, champagne in hand and fresh blow dries set the tone for the weekend ahead. A 4am start saw us boarding the Eurostar to Paris, buzzing with excitement for what was to come.
We arrived to sunshine and made a beeline for La Carette for their iconic hot chocolate. Knowing my love for history, my friends had planned a guided boat tour along the River Seine. They chatted and laughed together while I soaked up every fact as we drifted gently through the city.

After checking into our beautiful Airbnb, we toasted champagne and shared canapés before heading to an exquisite dinner at Bofinger. We danced late into the night at Le 1905, a hidden speakeasy jazz bar that felt totally made for the occasion. As true wellness girlies, we ended the evening back in our pj’s with our biohacking goodie bags (see linked below), determined to wake up feeling refreshed and hang-over free for day two!

The next day was dedicated to exploring the streets of Haut-Marais, and indulging in some shopping! After a stunning private breakfast at La Chambre du Marais, we headed to Officine Universelle Buly where we spent hours choosing engraved keepsakes. I picked a white marble effect mirror etched with my new initials. We re-fuelled with a quick cappuccino at a cosy street side cafe, followed by a visit to Sézane. After one last aperitivo avec frites & a de-brief in the afternoon sun we were ready to start the journey home.

Where we ate
The food was everything you’d expect from Paris. We started at the infamous La Carette for their iconic hot chocolate (absolutely worth the wait!) before an incredible dinner of steak and chilled champagne at Bofinger. From there, we wandered through the city of love to Le 1905, a hidden speakeasy jazz bar filled with locals where we sipped classic cocktails late into the night.
The next morning, we enjoyed breakfast in a private dining room at La Chambre du Marais, where I found a handwritten note from my bridesmaids waiting at my place which was the most thoughtful surprise.

What we packed?
My Paris wardrobe was very kindly gifted by Pretty Lavish. I wanted my looks to feel ‘bridal’ but with a modern, cool city girl edge. I mixed luxury textures and fabrics to achieve layered looks that were comfortable and practical for a day of exploring the city, while also feeling elegant and elevated. Key pieces were a white silk skirt, classic cut tops and timeless dresses matched with burgundy accessories to match the Hen Do theme. My favourite look was my evening outfit, a low back ultra sexy white satin dress paired with a faux fur stole and Gigi & Olive accessories. This was perfectly complemented by my entourage of girlfriends wearing beautiful shades of deep red.

Best moment of the hen weekend?
Every moment felt magical. My bridesmaids and my mum created the Hen Do of my dreams, a 36 hours that I keep replaying in my mind. It was the first time all my bridesmaids had spent time together in person, yet it felt as though we had been friends for years. The weekend was the perfect balance of wholesome and fun, and I can’t wait for all of us to be together again on my wedding day.
