Why Cannes
Cannes has always been somewhere I’ve wanted to go. With it being my hen, I wanted something unforgettable with the girls – and Cannes was the obvious choice.

Where we stayed
My bridal party booked the most amazing six-bedroom villa in Antibes, just 15 minutes from the centre of Cannes – close enough to head out and explore by day and night, but with a pool to retreat to when recovery was needed.

What we did
Our three-night trip was jam-packed. On the first day we had a sunset booking at La Guérite, where we drank and danced the afternoon away. Our second day started at a local vineyard for a tour and wine tasting, before heading back to the villa to get ready for a night out in Cannes at Le Speakeasy. On our last day we enjoyed the villa and the pool – a recovery day spent reminiscing about the best weekend ever.

Where we ate
The food at La Guérite was unbelievable – well worth the choppy boat ride to and from the island.

What we packed
My suitcase was extremely overweight. Choosing outfits for one of the most glamorous places on the planet proved difficult, so I essentially brought my entire bridal wardrobe. The pieces I couldn’t leave behind were the Primrose dress from Rat & Boa, the Romilly Sequin Dress from Meshki and the Topshop Garrison Beaded Bag, which worked with every outfit effortlessly. The girls came far more prepared than me, with dedicated recovery kits from Happy Tuesdays.

Best moment of the hen weekend
It’s impossible to pick just one. Seeing my best friends all having the time of their lives at La Guérite is right up there – my friends have such busy lives, and my best friend even travelled from Australia to be there. The effort they all went to to celebrate my upcoming wedding is something I’ll never forget.
