The story so far
We met in the small town we grew up in but didn’t initially get together. It was a few years later that we found ourselves gravitating toward each other at a friend’s birthday night out in Brixton. We got along so well we spent the next morning together, walking and chatting along Southbank. A decade later, we had our Winter wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall the rest, as they say, is history.

Venue
We had our Legal ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall. We both loved the architecture and style of the building and thought it suited a small, intimate wedding in December but was also very different from our big celebration coming in May.
Fashion
I really wanted to stay true to my style and went for something a little less traditionally ‘bridal. My dress from Matters Store is chic and timeless and the neck scarf added extra elegance; I felt really great wearing it. I borrowed my best friend’s wedding shoes – these were the classic court shoe and with the jewel buckle. The best bit is that this was blue so it ticked off ‘something borrowed and something blue!’ My bag added a nice little sparkle and is from one of my favourite brands Cult Gaia.
Jewellery
I also borrowed a pair of diamond stud earrings from my mum, who got these as a 21st birthday gift, so this felt extra special and sentimental. The rest of my ear stack is Orelia London and By Glaze.
Tablescape
I love love love doing tablescapes so wanted to create the one for our dinner myself. I envisioned something classic to co-incide with the time of year. It also needed to be cosy and romantic so I went for lots of white taper candles tied with black satin bows. Guest place setting also included personalised velvet bows as ‘favours’ and handmade matchboxes with a nod to Rob’s football club, LFC.
I did a practice at home and then hand delivered it all to The Phene just before Christmas with a ‘how to’ set up sheet. They did a great job and I love how it turned out.
Food & drinks
We were treated to bottles of champagne courtesy of our parents and then enjoyed cocktails and wine throughout the night. We hired The Phene private dining room – which accommodates 16 people – and enjoyed their 3 course set menu. I ordered a vintage wedding cake from Em Cakes which was a delicious addition at the end.
Entertainment
We are big country fans so I chose Chris Stapleton’s cover of ‘Whenever You Come Around’ to walk down the aisle and then we walked out to ‘You Make My Dreams Come True’ by Daryl Hall and John Oates. Something fun and upbeat!
For our May wedding we have chosen all new songs so watch this space.
Beauty regime & wellness
I was really conscious of my skin as it was winter so made sure to do 3 key things: drink lots of water, monthly facials, a simple and hydrating skincare routine.
I also did my own hair and makeup myself and with my trusty slick ponytail and glowy everyday makeup. My hero products are Color Wow 1 Minute Transformation Cream and Beauty Pie Superluminous Undereye Genius. Oh and I can’t forget Charlotte Tilbury Pillow talk lippy.
