From garden parties and margarita-fuelled nights to a glittering homage to a favourite nightclub, this hen weekend in the heart of the Cotswolds offered the perfect blend of laid-back luxury and personalised celebration. Set against the golden stone backdrop of Chipping Campden, 22 guests came together for a hen weekend of sunshine, sparkle, and unforgettable memories.
Why The Cotswolds…
A UK-based destination close to London felt like the obvious choice-easy to get to and just far enough to feel like a proper escape. My sisters found the perfect spot: a picturesque village near Chipping Campden, where we could all switch off and spend real time together.
Where We Stayed
Charingworth House was the dream setting for the weekend-charming, spacious, and ideal for a group of 22. With a hot tub, sweeping garden and plenty of room to host, it ticked every box. The weather turned it up for us too-blazing sunshine all weekend meant lounging in the garden with chilled rosé was a daily ritual.
What We Did
With a theme of ‘Last Margarita as a Señorita’, the weekend kicked off with ‘Margs and Margs’-margaritas and margherita pizzas-served up by a private cocktail bartender on Friday night.
Organised fun was kept to a minimum, but Saturday morning saw a relaxed friendship bracelet-making session hosted by my twin. Lunch followed at the Ebrington Arms-long, lazy, and rosé-fuelled-before we headed back for our ‘sequin glam’ evening.
The surprise of the night? My bridesmaids recreated my favourite nightclub from uni – Tokio Joes – renamed for the night as Tokio Josie’s. There was a bespoke neon sign, wristbands, glowsticks, a “bouncer” (aka my twin), and even a VIP area. It was beyond.
Where We Ate
Saturday’s long lunch at the Ebrington Arms was a highlight-delicious food, flowing rosé, and the perfect Cotswolds pub atmosphere. We also indulged in a relaxed brunch at the house on Sunday before heading off for our final stop.
What We Packed
Friday night called for the RIXO Aubrie dress-a failsafe hen do look. Saturday’s garden lounging meant a bikini from Monday Swimwear, swapped later for a Zara mini dress for lunch. That evening, I wore the Nadine Merabi, Lottie – the ultimate sequin moment. For our final night at Soho Farmhouse, the RIXO Edina dress made a perfect farewell look.
Best Moment
Having all the women I love most in one place for the first time ever was completely overwhelming-in the best way. From the moment I arrived and saw what my sisters and friends had pulled off, to the quiet chats over wine in the garden, every moment was magic. It was pure joy from start to finish.
