The late May sunshine arrived right on cue for The Wedding Edition and Maids to Measure as guests gathered for an elegant bridesmaids luncheon at Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge. Perched high above Tower Bridge in the hotel’s spectacular Thames Penthouse, the afternoon unfolded with panoramic views across the river, the city glistening in golden light beyond floor to ceiling windows. There are few addresses in London that feel quite as cinematic as this one. Housed within the former Port of London Authority building, the Four Seasons balances old world grandeur with the quiet polish of a modern private residence. Upstairs in the penthouse, with its sprawling terrace and sweeping skyline views stretching from The Shard to Canary Wharf, it felt less like a lunch and more like stepping inside the most impossibly chic London apartment.

Below, boats drifted along the Thames while guests arrived in floral silk prints and oversized sunglasses, stepping into what felt like the first true wedding fashion moment of the summer.
The occasion marked the launch of The Floral Edit by Maids to Measure, a romantic new collection of bridesmaids dresses designed for modern wedding wardrobes. Guests arrived wearing pieces from the collection itself, bringing the floral prints to life across the room in soft painterly tones and delicate silhouettes that felt made for long summer lunches and destination wedding weekends alike. Moving away from traditional bridesmaid dressing, the collection embraces a more fashion led approach, with styles designed to feel as relevant at a wedding in Tuscany as they would at a rooftop dinner in London months later.

As guests arrived, chilled glasses of Le Black Création from Champagne Lanson circulated alongside a series of beautifully executed canapés including tuna tartare with pickle cucumber and katsuobushi mayo, asparagus tartare with crème fraîche and summer black truffle, and wild mushroom vol au vents finished with parmesan snow. Meanwhile, Bobbi Brown artists offered glowing touch ups from a dedicated beauty corner, creating soft summer skin and barely-there glamour as content creators, brides to be and fashion names mingled overlooking the river.
The tablescape itself was a masterclass in understated romance. Wild floral arrangements by Appleyard London spilled across the long table in soft seasonal shades, creating the feeling of an English country garden transported into the city skyline. Pink hemstitched linens, scalloped plates and delicate glassware from Maison Margaux added layers of softness to the setting, while menus by Feather.Ink, beautifully printed by Leeming Brothers, completed the scene with elegant finishing touches. Throughout the afternoon, Alexandra Moss captured the atmosphere as guests moved between the sun drenched terrace and long lunch table, while Fran Newman-Young documented the event across social.
Following a welcome from Kendra Leaver-Rylah, founders India Sellars and Sinclair Sellars spoke about the inspiration behind the new collection and the shift they are seeing amongst modern brides, who are increasingly seeking bridesmaids dresses that feel elevated, wearable and genuinely fashion forward.
Guests then sat down to a beautifully curated menu beginning with roasted green asparagus with rocket and pistachio pesto and poached egg, before mains of seabass all’acqua pazza with saffron sauce and confit tomato. Dessert arrived in the form of seasonal pavlova, served as the afternoon sunlight poured across the penthouse terrace.
Among those in attendance were Fran Newman-Young, Jordan Rose, Jasmine Nguyen, Ellie May, Hayley Madigan, Helen Thu, Arabella Golby, Yasmin Salmon and Isabella Foulger, alongside a stylish guest list of brides to be and tastemakers from across fashion and weddings.

As the afternoon came to a close, guests departed with a special treat: a Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick from Bobbi Brown, beautifully presented scrunchies, and a dress from Maids to Measure’s new Floral Edit collection. It was impossible not to feel that Maids to Measure had captured exactly where bridesmaid dressing is heading next: romantic, modern, and made for far more than just one day.
