Why Go?
To experience a peaceful and romantic Moroccan escape just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the Medina. Idyllic surroundings with exquisite cuisine make for an indulgent and restorative honeymoon.

Honeymoon Style
Perfect for privacy-seeking honeymooners yearning for a retreat-style experience. This is a place that whispers romance and encourages meditative moments – think strolls through richly fragrant olive groves during the day and watching the sunset by soft lantern light at night. Couples would be forgiven for not setting foot outside the resort’s serene haven, however, the vibrancy and history of the Medina beckons guests craving culture and exploration.

Set The Scene
Couples will immediately fall under the tranquil spell of the Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech.
Entering through the glass double doors into the dark, marbled lobby where expansive glass walls offer cinematic views of the manicured gardens and pools marks a profound change in pace. Only the soothing trickle of the large fountain, the gentle murmur of guests and charming birdsong provide the background soundtrack. And the transition from busy airport to being warmly greeted, ushered to low, leather armchairs and handed a welcome drink of Ruinart Champagne or pretty pink rose lemonade is wonderfully seamless. Naturally, the check-in experience is gloriously unhurried and relaxed, setting the laidback tone for the duration of your stay.

Rooms
Honeymooners will relish the privacy of the breathtaking villas designed in the format of a riad (a traditional Moroccan dwelling centred around a garden courtyard). And the sheer size is dazzling. Oversized black, wooden double doors lead the way to total seclusion, whilst the traditional architecture offers couples an immersive Moroccan experience. Think high walls wreathed with white bougainvillea, which provide a beautiful backdrop to the central courtyard, with its surprisingly large pool and Jacuzzi. A black pergola and awnings bestow much-needed shade from the heat of the day. The stunning design has space in spades – ideal for putting the supplied yoga mat to good use. Meanwhile, plush sofas and chairs create many a good reading spot, including an oh-so-pretty daybed with sand-gold tassels that sparkle in the sun. This is the place to spend lingering mornings and let afternoons drift blissfully away.
Inside, the soothing calm continues with earthy, muted tones and handcrafted Moroccan textiles – the intricate tilework in the separate living area is a marvel to behold. Red roses adorn the desk and coffee table adding touches of colour and fragrance.

The expansive, marbled bathroom feels like a spa in itself with a huge round bathtub with room for two, and the steam shower offers couples a mini hammam experience complete with soft, glowing spotlights. Lavish Diptyque products with scents such as zingy grapefruit and rosemary are on hand for extra indulgence.
Thoughtful touches, including freshly baked Moroccan treats, a selection of local fruit on arrival and handwritten notes, all create a magical, personalised stay.
If you can tear yourself away from the villa, do request a couple of bikes for leisurely circuits around the resort.

Food and Drink
The star of the show here is Ling Ling by Hakkasan – dark interiors with laid-back club beats make for a sultry, romantic atmosphere, but there’s nothing better than sitting on the outside terrace overlooking the olive groves whilst sipping a perfectly made cocktail or glass of Chablis. For couples, Ling Ling Escape is the go-to menu including the Supreme Dim Sum Platter – delicate dumplings filled with sumptuous fillings such as scallop and king crab. The Spiny Lobster is creatively presented, certainly Instagram-worthy and is a delectable twist on the classic sweet and sour flavours. No Asian tasting menu could be complete without the addition of Wagyu Beef – of course this is not just any Wagyu Beef, this is Hakkasan’s Marmite edition, perfectly tender and succulent.

In-villa dining isn’t simply a listing here, but is actively encouraged. Allow chefs to curate a personalised menu for the ultimate, intimate evening – ideal for honeymooners.
Breakfast served outside at Shirvan is a sedate affair with the gentle strum of an oud (a lute-like instrument) adding to the calming ambience. A buffet selection is on offer with outstanding pastries, freshly made cakes and the must-try pistachio cookies: plentiful but not overwhelming. Order hot food à-la-carte, the French Toast is decadent with a soft, gooey centre and the Egg and Tomato Tagine is deliciously spiced. Coffee and juice orders will always be remembered by the (extremely) courteous staff.

The Story
Before Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech debuted 10 years ago, a farm existed on this plot of land with farmer, Omar in residence. Fast forward to today and Omar is still working here on his beloved farm; returning guests adore popping over to see him alongside the friendly goats and chickens – a charming reminder of the resort’s authentic roots.
In keeping with the ethos of all Mandarin Oriental properties, Mandarin Oriental Marrakech has been designed with an emphasis on local heritage and traditions – done here by French architect Pascal Desprez with interiors by Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier. The blend of Moorish and Andalusian-Arabic influences alongside the earthy, sandy tones are – quite simply – stunning, and yet design never comes at the cost of comfort or practicality. This understated yet sophisticated feel is part of the allure of the property. There’s no need for showy antics here, it’s discreet glamour alongside attentive but never overbearing service. All the staff exude warmth and genuine care ensuring guests feel at home.

Family Friendly
Despite the grown-up feel of this property, all members of the family are enthusiastically welcomed. Even weaning babies are catered for with specially designed, pureed menus. If travelling with little ones, opt for one of the family villas as these have heaps of space.
The (very sweet) Kids’ Kasbah club for ages four to 12 is tucked away, nestled next to the farm with plenty of culturally enriching activities such as carpet weaving and pottery. There’s even cooking and bread-making with one of the chefs, plus the opportunity to feed the animals next door.

Spa
The retreat feel of the resort is epitomised in the spa, which exudes inner peace and welcomes quiet contemplation. Inspired by Andalusian cathedrals and ancient mosques, it’s akin to entering a temple with beautifully arched ceilings, mosaic floors and warm red brick walls. On arrival guests will be offered a welcome drink of jus de pomme aux épices – a deliciously refreshing spiced apple juice with notes of citron – perfect for sipping whilst sinking into the comfort of the soft leather sofa and admiring the surroundings.
For an authentic Moroccan experience, couples should pre-book a private hammam. This ritual begins with a skin cleanse using traditional black soap followed by a full exfoliation with a natural-fibre ‘kessa’ glove, ensuring every inch of skin is scrubbed and buffed. Couples will leave feeling rejuvenated with wonderfully smooth and very clean skin.

The Oriental Essence massage using Morocco’s treasured argan oil is an indulgent treat for honeymooners. Treatments begin with your choice of scented oil – orange blossom is sweetly delicate and particularly relaxing – then, simply allow your expert therapist to guide you to the comfiest massage bed and work their magic by kneading away any muscle tightness.

Eco-Friendly
A conscious commitment to sustainability is woven into every detail here – from a zero-plastic policy to the use of fresh produce harvested from the resort’s own organic vegetable garden, which supplies all its restaurants.
This year in celebration of their 10th anniversary, the resort will harvest its very first honey from on-site hives and olive oil from the olive groves.
Even the smaller energy-saving efforts reflect a mindful approach, Jacuzzis are only heated on request and linens are refreshed every third day.

Location
The accessibility of the location is undoubtedly a huge perk, only 20 minutes from Marrakesh Menara Airport and 15 minutes away from the historic heart of Marrakech’s medina – although it feels worlds away from the buzzing centre. Concierge or your private butler can easily arrange day trips to any part of the city or even out to the Atlas Mountains. For adventurous honeymooners, journey to the desert for a camel ride or opt for a race on the dunes on quads or buggies.

Prices start from £1,095 for a one-bedroom suite and £1,180 for a one bedroom Mandarin Pool Villa, including breakfast.
