Firstly – It’s a privilege to design for such a special moment in a woman’s life. The gown becomes part of their story and whether it is kept or not, it is coveted. Also, I am fascinated by the evolution of bridal wear which is so often a reflection of our social empowerment. I love to delve into the history and traditions of weddings to inspire my work.

I choose not to wear a big white wedding dress because…
I got married when I was 50 years old. I didn’t imagine getting married in Ivory so I opted for a beautiful dove blue guipure lace from Austria which was hand stitched together – the lace interlocking seamlessly. For me, the lace which was very expensive was my treat to myself whilst I kept the shape quite simple.
