Inside: Sarah Packer And Courtney Wood's Citrus-grove Wedding At Finca Son Mir

From interviewing him after The Apprentice to saying ‘I do’ among the olive groves of Finca Son Mir, step inside Sarah Packer’s wedding to Courtney Wood in Mallorca.

The story so far

Courtney and I first met in 2017 after he appeared as a candidate on BBC’s The Apprentice. At the time, I was working at The Sun as a Showbiz journalist and interviewed him. The rest, as they say, is history.

After many happy years together, I was more than ready for a proposal. Finally, in August 2025, Courtney surprised me with a romantic trip to Monaco, where he got down on one knee with the most beautiful pear-shaped diamond ring. It was everything I’d hoped for, and we wasted no time getting started on planning our wedding.

Venue

We got married at Son Mir in Mallorca, and from the very beginning we knew the island was where we wanted to say ‘I do’. After years of reporting on Love Island, I’d fallen in love with Mallorca and it also felt like the perfect destination because it’s so easy for guests to travel to from the UK.

One of the biggest challenges when searching for venues was that many in Mallorca have noise regulations, meaning you can’t have your party or live band outdoors. Son Mir was different, and that was a huge selling point for us. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, with olive groves, orange trees, vibrant flowers and palm trees, creating the most magical setting. The fact we could have our band perform outside made it feel like the celebration we’d always imagined.

Another reason we chose Son Mir was its catering. The venue is partnered with Fosh, the Michelin-starred restaurant in Mallorca, so we knew the food would be exceptional and it truly exceeded every expectation.

We wanted our wedding to feel like a weekend-long celebration, so two days before the big day we hosted a boat party for all of our guests. It was the perfect way for everyone to relax and spend time together before the festivities began. I wore a white bikini from Away That Day that I’d been saving especially for the occasion, and I absolutely loved it.

The evening before the wedding, we welcomed everyone with a dinner at the beautiful beachfront restaurant Balneario Illetas. It was such a fun evening and the perfect way to set the tone for the celebrations ahead. I wore a plunging, backless gown by Arcina Ori, paired with a sleek updo inspired by Hailey Bieber, created by hairstylist Matthew Curtis, and soft, bronzed, sun-kissed makeup by Jennifer Oliver.

Fashion

In the evening, before our first dance, I changed into a backless, high-neck mini silk dress from Reformation. It was the perfect second look – sexy, comfortable, and easy to move around in so I could dance the night away.

My ‘something blue’ was an embroidered handkerchief from my mum, featuring our names stitched in baby blue alongside our wedding date.

Courtney wore a white tuxedo from Suit Supply. We were looked after by stylist and store manager Louis Pryde, who delivered incredible customer service from start to finish. He also helped my brother with his suit purchase. His expertise, attention to detail, and genuine care throughout the process were truly unmatched.

Wedding party

My three bridesmaids, August, Nicola, and Rea wore gorgeous orchid pink dresses from Maids to Measure. Each chose a different design that complemented their figure and reflected their individual style, while keeping the overall look beautifully cohesive. They looked absolutely stunning.

Maids to Measure provided a brilliant experience at their Chelsea store. The appointments were relaxed, and the team were incredibly helpful, guiding us through a range of different styles and colours before we chose Orchid Pink. The shade looked so beautiful against the Mallorca setting and was the perfect choice for our day.

I gifted the girls Chanel compact mirrors so they could touch up their makeup throughout the day, along with Patchology eye patches, shell anklets, and a decorative pouch for keepsakes, which I found at a lovely gift shop in Islington near where I had my dress alterations.

Tablescape

Our tablescape was intentionally kept simple, with white rose centrepieces and white candles by Faire Flowers. Each place setting featured olive green menus and place cards designed by Studio Ellio T. Their stationery was so classy and elegant, adding the perfect finishing touch to the tablescape. Tascha was an absolute joy to work with throughout the process and was incredibly quick-thinking when we needed to add an extra guest at the last minute. Nothing was too much trouble, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to future brides.

My husband is a gift and games designer, and his company, Bubblegum Stuff, created one of our favourite personal touches for the day. As our table favour, he designed a bespoke version of the classic card game UNO, which we renamed DUO and customised in our wedding colours. We’ve already been sent photos of family and friends playing the game since the wedding, which has been so lovely to see and makes it feel like a little piece of our day is still being enjoyed.

Food & drinks

The food was one of the highlights of our wedding. Our caterer, Michelin-starred Fosh, created an incredible menu, and the canapés were a particular favourite with our guests. To start, we served risotto with cured duck breast and prawn, followed by beef fillet for the main course, and a mandarin and orange blossom nest with pistachio crumble for dessert.

Our signature cocktails were an Espresso Martini, Paloma and Moscow Mule, which kept the celebrations flowing throughout the evening. Instead of a wedding cake, we opted for a cava tower. Then, as a late-night surprise, we treated our guests to a McDonald’s cart serving cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets and fries which proved to be a hit!

Entertainment

Our entertainment was one of the most important parts of the wedding for us. We even learned a choreographed routine for our first dance to Madonna’s La Isla Bonita, which became our own little Strictly Come Dancing moment! I’ve always loved the song because it perfectly captures how I feel when I’m on holiday, and that’s exactly the atmosphere I wanted to create for our guests.

We had live music from singer Inan Lima, who put on a fantastic performance and really got the party started. Later in the evening, I surprised Courtney and all of our guests by arranging for former Phats & Small frontman Ben Ofoedu to perform Turn Around, one of my husband’s favourite songs. It was such a special moment. Ben was incredible and even stayed afterwards to chat with guests and take photos, which made the surprise even more memorable.

We rounded off the night with a two-hour party set from DJ Matthew who kept people dancing with his mix of house and UK garage.

Beauty regime & wellness

There wasn’t much I didn’t do in the lead-up to the wedding! I had regular facials with Shane Cooper, as well as treatments at Vaishaly Clinic, where I’ve been a client for years and absolutely love all of the team. At Vaishaly’s, I also had two Mesotox treatments, which left my skin feeling incredibly glowy, hydrated, and rejuvenated – I would highly recommend!

I also had Botox and Profhilo with Dr Motox at his beautiful new clinic in Harvey Nichols. As a bride in my thirties, I was nervous about looking my best, but he made me feel so confident, refreshed, and like the best version of myself.

My hair was styled by Matthew Curtis, who was truly exceptional. Not only did he bring my vision to life for me, my bridesmaids, my mum, and my mother-in-law, but he was also such a calming presence throughout the morning. His talent, professionalism, and warmth made him an absolute standout.

The same can be said for my makeup artist, Jennifer Oliver. She created the most beautiful glowing, sun-kissed complexion, along with gorgeous brows and lashes, while remaining so calm and organised throughout the morning. She made sure every one of my bridesmaids felt confident and beautiful, and I couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out.

Favourite Wedding Gifts

We decided not to have a wedding gift list and kindly asked our guests to contribute towards our honeymoon fund. We’re planning a trip to Thailand a few months after the wedding.

Advice

If your budget allows, I’d highly recommend hiring a wedding planner, especially if you’re planning a destination wedding. Our planner, Maia, made the entire process so much easier, from recommending trusted suppliers to helping us navigate any language barriers. She was an incredible support throughout and a real source of reassurance on the day itself.

I’d also say don’t be afraid to have fun with your first dance. It doesn’t have to be a traditional slow song – it can be the perfect way to kick off the celebrations and set the tone for an unforgettable evening.

Finally, make sure you include personal touches that reflect you as a couple. Whether it’s meaningful details or unique elements that tell your story, those thoughtful additions will make the day even more memorable for both you and your guests.
