Set the scene:

As you leave the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden and enter into Nomad London you’re transported into a cool oasis like no other. The lobby is magnificent with dark hues, a giant chandelier, plenty of greenery and modern tapestry to admire. Discover new artwork at every corner you turn, continuing into the rooms – the collection is over a thousand pieces and counting. Staff are extremely welcoming and guests are a mix of trendy travellers, flying in from all over the world and local Londoners hanging out.

Event spaces:

The largest events space is the Magistrate’s Ballroom, which is remarkably different to any other ballrooms in London. It’s hard to believe it was once a Magistrates’ Courtroom as it has been transformed into a mystical space by an evocative mural painter, Claire Basler. There are two adjoining private dining spaces, a beautiful bar area designed for drinks and canapé receptions and even has a private entrance from the street for your wedding guests (the original courtroom entrance).

Food and drink:

The main restaurant is a showstopper, located in a glass conservatory with soaring ceiling meaning it’s flooded with natural light and has refreshingly bright interiors which nicely contrast with the rest of the hotel. The atmosphere echoes that of Nomad New York, it’s grand and playful yet somehow intimate. Follow the noise and you’ll find Side Hustle, a vibey Mexican bar and restaurant serving small plates to share and fiery cocktails. For weddings, the award-winning Nomad food and beverage team will pull out all the stops to create a tailored menu to tantalise taste buds.

Accommodation:

Midnight blue, softly lit hallways lead to the boutique bedrooms. Select rooms, such as the Parlour Suite, feature floor to ceiling sash windows with views of the iconic Royal Opera House, which sits proudly opposite. Super King beds are dressed in fresh white linen, antique chandeliers hang above and colourful prints and playful sketches adorn the walls. Robes are uber-soft, the bathrooms feature beautiful mosaic tiles and there are sweet dressing tables for getting ready – perfect for pre-wedding pampering.

The story:

NoMad London takes residence inside the historic, grade II-listed building famously known as The Bow Street Magistrates’ Court and Police Station. The New York-based interior design studio Roman and Williams, transformed the storied 19th century building into the swanky hotel it is today. The designers took inspiration from its rich history and Covent Garden location, as well as exploring the artistic and cultural connection between London and New York.

Eco-friendly:

The hotel is striving to eliminate all single use-plastics; you’ll find glass reusable water bottles in the rooms, cocktails with stainless steal straws and toiletry items are presented in paper packaging. The majority of the hotel’s fruit and veg are purchased from Natoora, a UK-based distributor who work directly with farmers and independent producers to source seasonal fruit and vegetables and sustainably produced dairy and charcuterie goodies.
