Prepare Your Moodboard

Before your trial, immerse yourself in research to find hairstyles and makeup looks that inspire you and resonate with your personal style. Curate a mood board or a Pinterest board brimming with images of your favourite styles. This will provide your stylist and makeup artist with a clear vision of your desired look.

  • Opt for styles that complement your face shape and hair type
  • Look for references on people who have similar hair type, skin tone, and facial features as you so that you know the look might be achievable
  • Keep the theme and setting of your event in mind.
  • Collect images that truly inspire you.

Make The Most Of Your Hair and Makeup Trial

Your wedding trial should be a collaborative process. Your Artist/Stylist should be asking lots of questions about how you want to look and feel and making you feel comfortable to give specific feedback as you design the look together.

Preparation Tips

On the day of your trial, ensure your skin is clean and moisturised, and your hair is freshly washed. Avoid heavy conditioners or styling products as they can interfere with the styling process.

  • Exfoliate your skin the night before.
  • Use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser.
  • Wash your hair either the night before or the morning of the trial.

 Bring Inspiration and Accessories

Don’t forget to bring along any accessories you plan to wear, such as veils, hairpins, or jewellery. This will help your stylist and makeup artist visualise the complete look and make necessary adjustments.

What To Bring:

  • Ideally wear something with a similar neckline and colour of your dress
  • Hair accessories and jewellery.
  • Photos of your dress or outfit.
  • Your mood board and inspiration images.

Take Photos & Videos Of Your Look

Hair and makeup can look very different under different lights. Take lots of photos and videos after the trial and give any feedback to your artists on anything that you would like to tweek or adjust.
